Perfect if you have a mouth full of crowns or sensitive teeth
I am one of those people who was born with unlucky teeth. When I was a child, I had a crap dentist who hated kids, and I grew up absolutely terrified of getting checkups ever since then because he was such a grade A jerk. Hence, when I was in my 20s, I avoided the dentist for like 7 years and when I finally went, my mouth was polka dotted with cavities. Those cavities eventually led to a bunch of crowns. And hence, here I am at age 50, with a bunch of fake teeth that seemingly pop off if I eat a too hard of an almond, if I floss too aggressively, or if I use a stiff toothbrush, manual or electric, that scrubs them right off. Curses to that childhood dentist! Which led me to ordering this pack of 12 bamboo biodegradable toothbrushes. I wasn’t sure what to expect with these but the best way I can describe them is it is like brushing your teeth with a very large, straight toothpick with a stiff makeup brush on the end. The bristles are extremely plush and soft, like minky soft, just like makeup brushes. In comparison to level of “soft” standard toothbrushes which feel very plastic-y, these feel silky, but dense. The bristles remind me of a really high-end paintbrush….super soft as if the bristles were pulled from the coat of a chinchilla. While just yet I cannot attest to the longevity of these toothbrushes, one does clean my teeth just fine. The bristles are VERY gentle on teeth like mine…the kind that are fake and hanging on for dear life via glue and don’t like to be scrubbed down as if you were scouring a dirty dish pan. The bristles are so plush and silky that it almost feels like my teeth and gums are getting massaged instead of scrubbed, yet my teeth feel quite clean when I am done. For those who are wondering or cannot tell from the stock photos, the stem of this toothbrush does not have any curvature whatsoever; it is a very straight piece of bamboo, which strangely enough was not a problem for me. I thought that I would be bothered by the lack of bend but it wasn’t really an issue at all. If gentle cleaning and eco sustainability are your jam then these might be the toothbrushes for you!UPDATE, 01/16/26: I came back here to say that after using one of these toothbrushes for several weeks, I am honestly really enjoying it and it is completely growing on me. One night, my “regular” plastic toothbrush with the plastic dish-scrub bristles just snapped in half right at the head (I have never in my life had a toothbrush just break in half, so I guess it was a sign from God for me to start using these bamboo brushes full time, lol.) These toothbrushes seem to more “massage” the teeth rather than scrub them, but it actually feels really nice. Well, not so long ago, I realized that my front teeth are turning translucent and losing mineralization due to some aggressive stomach ulcers with which I have been dealing for the past six months. My mouth has been extremely acidic because of this, and I am now on an emergency remineralization regimen trying to get my teeth structurally sound again. Now I am using mineral powder several times a day, and I must say, I really appreciate the gentle action of this brush for my uber sensitive teeth. The brush applies the powder to my teeth without them feeling violated, and my gums feel more cared for as well, too. I know that might sound weird to say about a toothbrush, but it might just be something you need to experience for yourself to understand what I am saying. The way it cleans my teeth is very, very gentle and my teeth feel “safe” underneath the soft brush hairs. At first, I was not 100% certain that this type of toothbrush would be one with which I would stick, but honestly, I am very much enjoying how it feels to brush my teeth versus how it felt using my old, regular, standard plastic toothbrush. Again, I have a pretty sensitive mouth with lots of crowns and unfortunately degrading mineralization now as well, and I feel blessed to have this type of toothbrush on my side in terms of being part of my healing plan. This is 100% my honest opinion about this toothbrush, and I am super surprised at just how much I am loving and appreciating my teeth being under its care. I look forward to using up all twelve brushes over time.

Good toothbrushes, but I wasn’t expecting a visit from the dark side
So I wasn’t expecting half of these toothbrushes to be charcoal. That’s on me for not properly reading and understanding the description and I’m not going to knock a star just because of my lack of reading comprehension… but seriously, why are charcoal toothbrushes actually a thing? Everything I have read about them says the efficacy is dubious at best and at worse they mighty cause damage your tooth enamel. My tooth enamel is already thinner than average and I’m not going to do anything that might make it worse. I’ll find a use for them, sure, as they are perfectly good for scrubbing and cleaning small things, but that means I’m left with six toothbrushes. I’m sticking to the white ones for my teeth, the charcoal ones are going in the workshop.That said, these are nice and soft and if you have sensitive teeth like I do they are a nice change from the less densely packed bristles you’re likely to find with other toothbrushes. They clean my teeth. I like the natural bamboo handles and I don’t feel like I’m just throwing plastic junk in a landfill when I wear these out, and knowing that actually prompts me to change to a new one more often than I otherwise would.These are good brushes, I just wasn’t expecting the dark side to be included in each separate box. My bad for not reading.

Nicely made, but a sensory nightmare.
At the current price of $9.99 for a twelve pack, I love that these toothbrushes are super cost effective, and I love even more that they are biodegradable. I appreciate that the handles are natural and unfinished, but they are also really smooth and feel nice to hold in my hand.However, I really hate the texture of the toothbrush head. I tried, I really did, but something about the way the bristles are so densely packed together creates the weirdest texture that, for me, was really deeply unpleasant. It feels like I am brushing my teeth with memory foam, I just don’t know how else to describe it. And if I don’t have quite enough toothpaste on the brush, it will even squeak against my teeth, which is an absolute sensory nightmare for me. I wanted to like these brushes, but I just can’t.
