Dr. Bronner’s Castile Bar Soap – Unscented
I have used Kirk’s Castile bar soap for many years, and I’m still a fan. But I must admit that I find Dr. Bronner’s Castile Bar Soap (Baby Unscented) superior to Kirk’s. Gentle, genuinely fragrance-free, effectively cleansing, and free rinsing, Dr. Bronner’s is a first-rate bath bar. I’ve always had a slight problem with facial dryness especially if I’ve shaved before I shower (and especially in winter)…but, like Kirk’s, I can use Dr. Bronner’s on my face without concern about irritation and dryness. For me, the fragrance-free quality of Dr. Bronner’s may be the most important as I’ve never be a fan of scented bath soaps. (Years ago, that meant you were forced to use Ivory…awful stuff!) Kirk’s unscented offering measures up well against Dr. Bronner’s, but the Kirk’s still has a very mild, albeit pleasant, fragrance.So…Dr. Bronner’s or Kirk’s? I could flip a coin, I suppose…but I’d be hoping it comes up Dr. Bronner’s.UPDATE: After using Dr. Bronner’s Castile bar soap for about two months, it is unquestionably my new favorite. As I indicated earlier, I was a user of Kirk’s Castile for many years. It remains a very fine castile bar soap, but there are two additional reasons for my preference for Dr. Bronner’s. First, Bronner’s is a larger bar by at least 20%. Second, Bronner’s lasts longer…not because it’s larger but because it’s more dense than Kirk’s which must have something to do with Bronner’s milling process. More importantly, I arrived at this second assessment with my first uncured bar of Bronner’s. (As you may know, removing the wrapper of any bar soap and storing/curing it several weeks before using it makes it last longer.)Bronner’s is more expensive than Kirk’s and a little harder to find, but in my opinion (no knock on Kirk’s) Bronner’s is the better castile bar soap in terms of both quality and value.

Great for washing clothes on long vacation
Bought this for using as travel laundry wash for hand washing my clothes while on vacation. I would take my used clothing into the shower with me and wash them up while I was in the shower. Worked great for 3.5 week European vacation where I only packed a carry on sized rolling bag. Like that it is unscented. This one is better than peppermint Dr Bronner’s liquid I used for travel laundry soap last year. The bar is easier to travel with as can be in carryon bag on the plane without having to go in quart zip lock.Positives: unscented, not liquid form, easy to travel with, works great to wash all clothing when traveling

I’m allergic to fragrance. I’ve had a hard time finding fragrance free soap that won’t dry my skin out. This leaves my skin soft not itch free! This is part of my morning shower routine now! Love it!

Soap for sensitive skin
This is an excellent soap for sensitive skin for people of all ages not just babies. I have been using this soap for several years and have not had any skin issues since I started using it. The multipack is well worth purchasing.

The best clean rinse in a soap! My son gave me a bar of this soap at Christmas! Yes, it was the most unusual gift I have ever gotten but I LOVE it!This soap package is very interesting to say the least but it’s what’s inside that counts. I have been an Ivory soap girl for most of my life but after using Dr. Bronners magic soap I am no longer using Ivory. Being a part of the older generation makes my skin dry out easier and I can use Dr. Bronners daily with no harsh drying of my skin. This soap is a little more pricey but well worth the little bit extra and I think it lasts a little longer than Ivory although I have no way to test it, as I won’t be buying my old brand any more. I am going to look for the Lavender scent the next time!

Perfect for sensitive skin!
I have extremely sensitive skin due to eczema. Even with a flare up, this soap doesn’t irritate my skin the way a lot of other so-called natural or organic brands do. It leaves a nice clean feeling and I like that it has just a mild scent. I ordered some for my parents and my dad even tried using it to wash his hair and surprisingly found that it got rid of the itchiness from his dandruff problem. He tried so many different shampoos over the years and nothing helped but this soap did. He was extremely happy. I definitely would recommend this for anyone with very sensitive skin.

Expensive, very good soap
So. I bought this to test a theory I had about having a fragrance allergy. Since I purchased the unscented version.Turns out I don’t think it solved my breathing issue. So I’ll have to keep hunting to figure out why my nose is constantly stuffed because my doctor says there’s nothing wrong with me (GRR)Anyway, about the soap. It turns out that I really like it. I have always used the common green irish bar, or the common gold dial bar.Its all I’ve ever known so I never had an issue with either one of those brands.But since using this Dr Bronners all-one bar I have noticed it leaves my skin much softer, less dry, and my skin produces less oils from my face. Also I’ve noticed that I have to use far less of this soap to get a rich lather on my skin.I wasn’t really looking for a new body bar soap, but I think I found one I like better than what I had previously used.Its super expensive compared to what I used before, but still about 1/2 the price of the one that has those hilarious commercials all over the Utube.Over all. I like it and I think I’ve been inspired not to make my own castile bar soap.

Use as shampoo and conditioner and 1 bar lasts for a good 2 months, which is way better than a dispenser that lasts a month AND would cost double or triple WHILE ALSO not being up to the organic standard. This is basically gold. You’re buying gold. Forever a customer.

You will feel so ridiculously squeaky clean. Honestly… the smell is pleasant and light. Just pure soap. Have been using this brand my whole life and with such natural ingredients at a great price point how could you say no. I especially love this one and the lavender one. The bottled soaps are good but I like the lather of bar soap better.
