Very effective Retinol alternative, great price!
As someone who was on 10 years of useless rx retinol lotions and potions, then finally 9 months of the famous oral acne medication (the one with tons of toxic side effects, rhymes with smackutane), I can consider myself an expert on retinol – something of which I had previously found to be the “gold standard” for anti-aging. But retinol always, ALWAYS, irritated my skin, made it sensitive, made it red, made it DRY! I actually had medications for the side of effects of it. For my applications, I can honestly say that topical retinol’s application for taming acne (for me) was only a measly 4.5/10, even though it DID plump my skin. But after 18 months of being off retinol, I began noticing a lot of fine lines. If my skin was dry, I looked 100 years old. And if I furrowed my brows too much? The lines would stay for a few minutes to a few HOURS. That freaked me out. But I knew I wasn’t going back to retinol and risk losing my clear skin to a round of skin purging. Enter: Celdyque Bakuchiol.I had read about bakuchiol and the claims hailing it as a natural retinol alternative but I wasn’t sure if it was just marketing. Well, I can honestly say that in just 6 weeks of using this product consistently, I’ve seen tremendous positive changes in my skin. But first let me describe the texture of the product. This serum can best be compared to the consistency of squalane oil. It’s rich and very hydrating. While I do not have sensitive skin, I find this to be extremely gentle. This product has no fragrance besides a gentle earthy smell for the first few seconds, and it does not linger. I use this on top of multiple serums to lock everything in before my spf. I also use it at night instead of a moisturizer or under my Sunday Riley Good Genes. Now let me discuss the changes I saw.As previously stated, I’ve noticed fine lines on my face – fine lines that would remain whether my face was hydrated or not. Mostly around my eyes, but most apparent were the deepening of my smile lines. I can 100% say that this Bakuchiol has not only plumped up all of the fine lines around my eyes, but it has also radically filled in my smile lines. Not fixed completely, but they look SO MUCH BETTER. I wish I took before and after photo. I’ve received compliments on my skin and people always ask me what I’m using. Besides my fine lines being filled in, I would say my pores are much tighter, skin texture is definitely smoother, and most notably, my skin tone is much brighter. I can truly attribute this product to rapidly fading my most acne hyperpigmentation and evening my overall skin tone. While I don’t have any melasma or sun damage, I did have some discoloration and mismatched tones on my cheeks and under my eyes. After using this bakuchiol, my skin tone is noticeably MUCH more even and much brighter. This does an incredible job in that arena for me. Overall I’m pleased and will keep using this. I’d recommend anyone who wants to use this for anti-aging to stick to it for a minimum of 3 months. I highly recommend it to be used in conjunction with other actives – it plays nice with others. A double blind, Thai study found that just 20,000ppm of Bakuchiol extract showed the same effects as 0.050% retinol cream without any of the harsh side effects of retinol. Scientists are still unsure of what the mechanism of action is for how Bakuchiol works to rejuvenate the skin, but what they DO know is that Bakuchiol exhibits strong antioxidant qualities, which helps fight skin aging via neutralizing free radicals.Even though they say more Bakuchiol doesn’t make it more effective, I’m happy this product has 30,000 ppm – KBeauty brands are very guilty of marketing products to have certain good ingredients, then only adding 0.01%/a negligible amount of the “star” ingredient to trick you and save themselves money. Not Celdyque! The price point is awesome too. I can’t wait to continue my journey with this serum. I highly recommend it!

Retinol alternative
Great retinol alternative!I love how bright my skin is with retinol, but I also hate how it also sheds my skin and gives me texture so frequently. I had done some research on Bachukiol and wanted to see if it was truly an alternative to retinol.I have been using it for months now and it truly gives me the same results as retinol without the skin pilling and texture! I add 3-4 drops to my evening moisturizer about twice a week, and that’s all I need!! If I use more than that, it starts to make my skin textured, so easy does it. Please note, this is a concentrate, so you need to mix this in with your moisturizer, as it could be harsh directly applies to the skin on its own. There is a slight herb smell to it, almost similar to Thyme, but it’s very slight. It is a very runny texture just like most serums, so I put the drops on my hand before my lotion. Otherwise it tends to drip off the top. This bottle is going to last me so long, so for the price its an amazing deal compared to how expensive true retinol is. 10/10

Gives my skin a soft glow
I mix this serum with my foundation and love the finish. It gives my skin a soft glow without looking shiny or heavy. The texture feels light and blends fast. It does not change the color of my makeup and makes my face look fresher and smoother. I also use it alone on no-makeup days for a healthy glow. A little goes a long way. I will keep buying this one.

Great alternative to Tretinoin
This product, after a lot of research has been amazing. Perfect amount of herb for all my DIY. I add it to my body lotions and face serums.Boost collagen production• Reduce fine lines and wrinkles• Even out skin tone and texture• Calm inflammation and acneGentle enough for sensitive skin, bakuchiol gives a smoother, brighter complexion with consistent use. I wanted something I could use in between my Tretinoin and Vit c as those can be harsh. This product hasn’t dried my face or broke me out. It’s helped my complexion and texture so far!

Only 3% Bakushiol
Only 3% Bakuchiol, rest is butylene glycol. This should have been state prominently in description. Since it’s only 3% active ingredient, I wonder why we are told to use only 2-3 drops “to dilute the concentration to 5%.” This makes no sense. I’ll have to find out what concentrations were used in studies. Disappointed. Smell is very light, herbal and pleasant. I am very choosy about smells. There are very few I like, and strong ones make me feel like I can’t breathe. So this gets a star for smell. Seller send me the following information : To clarify the concentration: 30,000 ppm = 3% Bakuchiol in the concentrate. Because this is a high-strength mix-in, it’s meant to be blended with your base cream or lotion before use.How to mix (practical guide):Daily use: add 2–3 drops of the concentrate to about a dime-sized amount (~0.5 g) of your cream in your palm, then apply. This typically yields an effective Bakuchiol level around ~0.3–1%, which is the range commonly used in ready-to-use products.About Butylene Glycol:It is not a preservative. It functions primarily as a humectant (helps retain moisture), solvent/carrier (helps dissolve and deliver actives), and texture/spreadability enhancer to keep the formula uniform and comfortable on skin.Ours is 100% plant-derived from sugarcane. If this clarification addressed your concerns, you’re welcome—purely at your discretion—to update your review to reflect your current experience. There is absolutely no expectation to change it; your honest feedback is what matters most.If you’d like, I can also help tailor a mixing ratio to your specific base (cream/lotion type and texture). Just let me know.” I appreciate all the effort.

This is some sort of sorcery in a bottle. I use it along with vitamin c serum and have applied it without fail for 3 weeks now. My skin is noticeably better for it. It’s really moisturising and I use it as a base for my foundation. Fantastic product.
