Our cork block is made of sustainable cor material. It is extremely durable, stable and solid. The natural texture provides extra traction while the rounded corners and edges provide comfort and support during poses. Refine your yoga routine when performing Iyengar, Anusara, Ashtanga, restorative, or power yoga with this Hugger Mugger cork yoga block. Made of fast-growing, renewable cork, the block is stable, long lasting, and comfortable, making it a great choice for supported backbends and select standing and sitting poses. Cork harvesting is a sustainable process that has remained virtually unchanged for 3,000 years. Made from the bark of long-lived cork oak trees, cork is stripped from the trees every decade, a process that actually maintains the health of the trees and their surrounding ecosystem. Cork is extremely durable yet slightly porous, giving it the perfect balance for use in yoga blocks. Plus, cork’s natural texture provides traction, while the rounded edges create a comfortable surface for supported poses. And because cork is a completely natural fiber, there’s no off-gassing as there would be with chemically treated products. A favorite of eco-minded consumers, the Hugger Mugger block measures 9 by 5.5 by 3.5 inches (W x H x D). Great blocks!
These are great sturdy cork yoga blocks. I thoroughly recommend them as they’re worth the money. I find they offer more stability and support in my yoga practice than using foam blocks which I have too but use for sitting poses on more. We also have these at the studio where I work and they are still going strong 3.5 years later with a ton of use.

Now, this is a block!
When I decided to buy a pair of blocks I knew they would be Hugger Mugger. I’ve tried their foam blocks in the class and they worked great. I definitely wanted something solid and was debating between their cork blocks and foam blocks. I ended up getting the cork blocks because they match my mat better and are eco-friendly. I was a little bit hesitant because I never used cork before and I didn’t know if they would hurt my hands or would be too heavy. At the beginning I though they were too hard, but they are not. These are just NICE! I love how these blocks never collapse regardless of how many different asanas I try. I also like how the strenght of the cork material makes me use my muscles better by transmitting my muscle strenght toward other muscles and not buffering it into a soft block. Sturdy, very sturdy but comfortable enough to place and keep it in my back for a while during supine poses. Like others have mentioned, the feel to it is really nice; nice smooth surface and the built is superior quality. They are very well made, surfaces are even and don’t look cheap at all. Regarding the weight I don’t think they are that heavy. I weighted them & each one is 1.8 lbs. Maybe to carry a pile of them wouldn’t be that cool but these are so nice I wouldn’t mind taking them to class. These are my first pair of blocks and after using them for a while I don’t think I will be back to any other block. They truly a great buy for me. Versatile. These cork blocks work amazing for standing, energizing and restorative poses. They have tremendously helped to open my horizons in my yoga practice. Really love them!

Quality yoga block
I am a huge fan of this yoga block. I recommend the cork ones simply because they are more comfortable and stable. Some people claim that they are too heavy, I honestly dont think think item weighs that much more than 1 lb. I have no problems using it whatsoever. If you are a trainer and need to transport a bag of 15 of these, I could see that getting a little heavy. Otherwise it is plenty lightweight for me.Some people claimed that their cork block came cracked when they got it. I ordered 2 of these and had no problems. Pay the extra 1-3$ and get a cork block. It is totally worth it.

Strictly a personal choice, but this is a good one
Yoga blocks come in different sizes, different weights, different densities or hardness and different colors and different materials. If you’ve been doing yoga for a while you probably know your preferences. There is no “better” for most of these, its just preference. That said, this is how these cork blocks stack upSize: pretty close to standard, that is about the same size of 90% of the blocks I’ve seen.Weight: Heavier than a foam block, lighter than a wooden blockHardness: Fairly hard, but much softer than wooden blocks.Overall I find it a very attractive and comfortable block.

The best yoga block
The best block in my opinion, nice weight to it, solid, soft and easy to grip surface, sturdy. I don’t like the foam blocks, too unstable and light and slippery. The studio where I practice has the same type and they seem to have held up through many many student uses over at least a year or more. The only damage sustained to mine has been when my kitten took a gnaw on the corner. So maybe keep out of the way of kittens. Overall, I highly recommend!

Great Blocks
I greatly prefer these blocks to the synthetic ones. They don’t give in at all and makes each pose easier to stretch into.My only negative is that the cork will flake away, albeit very very little, once exposed to a lot of sweat during a Yoga Heat session. But all in all a fantastic block at a great price that I have already recommended to others

Perfect Size and Weight for My Smaller Hands
I originally ordered another brand (Maduka) that also had rave reviews. It measured 9”x6”x4”. They seemed to be well made and substantial, but they were just a little too wide and heavy for me, so I sent them back. I had a hard time using them with the half moon pose. The Hugger Muggers measure 9”x5.5”x3.5”, and the half inch difference on the width and depth made them perfect for my smaller hands. They seem very similar to the Madukas, but just a little smaller and lighter. I can now do the half moon pose with ease. The description says they weigh a pound—I couldn’t find what the other brand weighs—but the Mandukas felt a little heavier. To compare your hands with mine, mine measure 7 inches from my wrist to the tip of my third finger and 8 inches from my thumb to little finger when my hand is spread as wide as possible. (See photos.) I also have a foam block, but I much prefer the cork. Every time I see the “Hugger Mugger” name on the side of the blocks, it puts a smile on my face. I am very happy with this purchase!

Yoga Blocks looking new after 10 years of use
My wife got two of the Hugger Mugger Cork Yoga Blocks 10 years ago. She just told me she is impressed how they still look like new after very regular use. I guess that is worth leaving a review. I hope they still make them the same way…
