Works Great as a Cleaning Product
I bought these Arm & Hammer Fridge-N-Freezer boxes specifically for cleaning around the house, and they’ve been fantastic. While they’re marketed as odor absorbers for refrigerators, the baking soda inside works perfectly for all sorts of cleaning tasks.I use it for scrubbing sinks, countertops, and even my stovetop. It’s mildly abrasive without scratching surfaces, and cuts through grease and stains really well. The 1-pound size gives you plenty of baking soda for multiple cleaning sessions, making it a great value compared to smaller boxes.What I like about these commercial boxes is that they’re sturdy and easy to store. The “Change By” label on top doesn’t matter much for my purposes, but the box design makes it easy to pour out just the amount I need without making a mess.I’ve found it works especially well mixed with a little dish soap for tough kitchen cleaning jobs. It’s also great for deodorizing carpets – just sprinkle some on, let it sit for 15 minutes, and vacuum it up.For anyone looking for an effective, natural cleaning product without harsh chemicals, this baking soda is perfect. I’ll definitely continue buying these boxes for cleaning rather than the smaller, more expensive versions marketed specifically for cleaning purposes.

Great product! Wish I had found out about this in college!
We use this product in many places around the house, so a pack of 12 actually goes pretty quick. We usually have two in the fridge and two in the freezer. I don’t know if it’s psychological/placebo effect or not, because I can’t give a scientific reason why, but we seem to have less moldy food and the ice doesn’t seem to have that weird taste (and we change our filter regularly). The fridge doesn’t have any unusual smells, but the drawback is if something does go bad, it takes longer to realize that you forgot some takeout from a few weeks ago.It also works great for the kitchen trash can, as well as the trash can we use for the baby’s used diapers. Prior to using this product, the whiff of stench every time we threw something away was pretty unbearable, but now, it is MUCH less noticeable, although obviously, keep the lid open long enough it’ll still stink.The other great place we use it for is at the bottom of the laundry basket. That awful gym sweat smell no longer lingers in the bathroom. I wish I knew about this in college!Only drawback is there are often leaks at the side of the box, and sometimes the baking soda comes pouring out. Nothing a little tape can’t fix, but it’s still annoying at times.
