Seventh Generation Free & Clear Dishwasher Detergent Packs are made with plant-based ingredients free of fragrances, dyes, phosphates, and chlorine bleach. Because trust us, we can handle the job without them. For more than 25 years, Seventh Generation has been thoughtfully formulating safe and effective plant-based products that work. Really well. Our dish detergent uses powerful plant-based ingredients like surfactants and enzymes to break down tough residue and lift away food, leaving your dishes sparkling clean. So, how does it all work? The enzymes cut through grease and food by breaking down starch and protein-based residue while the surfactants remove dirt and grease by holding the molecules in suspension, so they can wash away. Yes, even those fussy egg stains. Based in Vermont, Seventh Generation is proud to be a Certified B Corporation. BE CAREFUL with regular dishwasher soap!!!
I started to realize that I had small bubbles on top of my water every time I filled any glass cups. Started to think it was residue from the washing machine. Was using one of the most common brands, changed to the other one. Same thing was happening. Decided to by the Seventh Generation liquid dishwasher, then the dishes wouldn’t come out as clean. On a search here, found out about these pacs and read the reviews that said they were better than the liquid. Gave it a try and… I LOVE IT!!! No more bubbles on my water AND dishes are spotless after the shortest dishwater circle.Decided to test it again and put water in one cup washed with the regular dishwasher soap and water in one cup washed with the Seventh Generation pacs. First one: lots of bubbles and soap taste. Second cup: clear and pure water.I realized my family and I were drinking (and probably eating) soap this whole time. Ugh!!!! I’m so glad I found this one out. It cleans and no residue. These are only pacs I buy now.

cleans well and no soapy smell afterwards
I noticed the negative reviews and was surprised. We’ve used these for years and they are great, so I thought I should say so. I put one pac in the soap container, close the soap door and let it rip. We have a Bosch dishwasher and we rinse our plates off. It gets everything clean and what I like a lot is there is no artificial, soapy smell at the end of the wash. Most other soaps I’ve tried must leave a residue because there is a strong soap smell when I open the dishwasher door. But not with these.I had subscribe and save but they just cancelled it. too bad, i’ll have to buy by hand instead.

Safe product for dishes and baby bottles
We tried a Finish and Cascade before this. Cascade was okay, but Finish gave some yellow stains on the dishwasher itself. The dishes themselves were okay and all the three cleaned the dishes well. Due to the yellowing dishwasher, I started researching others packs and came across this.I came across Seventh Generation when I was researching a mild dish-washing detergent that my wife I could use. That turned out excellent. Since we have a baby now, we decided to buy this. That way we can wash the baby’s glass bottles in the dishwasher. My wife is more on the extra careful side and used to hand-wash the bottles before this. Sevent Generation gave us confidence to wash the glass bottles in the dishwasher. The fact that its great for the environment is an added bonus, but that was not the deciding factor to buy this. The only drawback is that it sometimes leaves residue inside the bottles. This may be due to the narrow shape of the glass bottles themselves. The residue looks like salt particles. We just rinse it off with water and a bottle brush. We sanitize the glass bottle anyway, so its not a big deal. We’ve never tried the glass bottles with other dish pacs, so I don’t know if the other have the residue issue too.I have subscribed to have this product shipped periodically and would recommend it.

Best alternative to Cascade
This is the best alternative to cascade platinum! Trust me – I have tried all the other organic dishwasher detergents and gels. This one works great! My suggestions is that you puncture the pod and slice it open in the dishwasher before you close the lid. I’m so happy I find this product – no more bleach and chemical scents!

Perfect little dish pacs
I love dish pacs. Regular detergent is not difficult per se, but this is borderline fun to use.Love that it’s free and clear. I tried Cascade and it filled my apartment with a strong weird scent that grossed me out.My husband and I are sharing a car right now, so getting subscribe and save deliveries of common household stuff, for a good price, is super helpful. My dishes come out clean. That’s all I’ve ever wanted in a detergent. The eco-friendliness is a nice bonus, too.

It works and I don’t worry about drinking water from my glasses anymore…
It works and I don’t worry about drinking water from my glasses anymore… When I used to use the namiest name brand dishwashing detergent, I would fill up a glass of (filtered) water and then dump it down the drain because it either tasted chemically, smelled chemically or both! YUK! With this detergent, I don’t have that problem – I drink straight from the glass without extra rinsing or wasting water. And if you look at the EWG rating it is rated as safe, so things like baby items can be cleaned without my worrying if I am poisoning our child! 🙂

Worked well for us
I was hesitant to purchase these due to some negative reviews, but I’m so glad I did anyway. These dish packs work great, even with our hard water. We are also not always diligent about rinsing every dish before it goes in the dishwasher and everything still comes out clean. So glad to have found a cruelty-free and EWG-approved dish detergent that works.

We’ve had difficulty finding a brand that didn’t have a strong scent, and more importantly, that didn’t leave a soap residue coating. Even using a rinse aid didn’t seem to help (our dishwasher is brand new). Fill a glass with water and we had soap bubbles at the top. Then we tried Seventh Generation dishwasher packs and now we have sparkling clean dishes every time, with no strong scent, no residue and no soap bubbles. Awesome!

It’s working as expected no smell of soap in dishes and cleaned almost everything no streaks or left over stains even for the greasiest plates , it’s expensive compared to most main stream dishwasher products but they left a horrible soap smell on the dish and so I switch it to this ! So far other than the price I don’t have complaints ! If you are looking alternative for normal toxic soap I would recommend this !

Works well and has no smell a total relief for my scent allergy house hold now we can use the dishwasher instead of being forced to hand wash everything. It came in a box not a bag though and this made it clear immediately the package had been damaged in shipping and a number of the pods were broken.

I hate dirty dishes as much as anyone. I always bought the Finish Quantum Power Ball brand and was always very happy with them. I can say I really have not noticed any drop-off in cleaning performance as a result of switching to these. However, one bag I bought had packs that were too thick for a standard dishwasher detergent dispenser. That was annoying – I had to crush each packet with something flat to make it fit. Subsequent bags of these didn’t have that problem, so I’ll chalk it up to an unusual consistency problem. I don’t punish my dishwasher too badly and I load it properly, but I don’t prewash anything, either. Nearly everything comes out clean the first time and these really are better for the Earth and safer for human health than conventional detergents.

I thought my dishwasher might have be in need of repairs, since I tried a number of name brand detergents (cascade), cleaned the filter, used rinse, yet still got residue on my dishes.Trying seventh generation, it turned out my dishwasher was fine. Seventh generation always washes clean for me and always rinses clean, I don’t even need to use rinse. The scent is very mild, hardly noticeable, and does not leave that harsh, almost acidic feeling in the back of your throat that cascade does.
