Nice and light for hot sleepers
I feel like this was a good investment, and I hope it lasts long because it doesn’t have the stitching to keep the insides in place, but i understand that with good silk comforters, you don’t have that. This is my first silk comforter because i always thought silk was hot. After researching for the best comforters for hot sleepers, I was torn between this one and the Rest cooling synthetic down. I have to say the latter was so soft and so cool to the touch and so heavy (which wasn’t a bad thing and was very comforting), but i feel like it was warmer than this one. This has been so nice and light. I don’t get hot at night although we’re still not in the heat of summer in LA yet. I bought a percale duvet cover and it still feels light and airy and not hot. I’m really happy with it so far.

Perfect for summer
Silk is so soft and very friendly to skin. A Silk filled comforter is the bedding one must have. I already have several of them for cold seasons. This comforter is light and well made with authentic silk filling– by my experience. Silk filled comforter should not be washed in water, if one doesn’t want to ruin it. The protective duvet cover case outside the comforter will be washed eventually. I am glad I could find both on Amazon.

Washing it is okay
I’ve had the spring twin sized comforter since May 2023. Even when it’s warm I like having a blanket on me and this is great because it’s so lightweight. I find it also kept me sufficiently warm during the winter (Texas winters with no heater on—I can tolerate 55f inside).Yesterday, March 27 2024, my dog peed on this comforter. 😭 since it’s made of natural materials I decided to wash it before sending it off to a fabric recycling plant. I washed it with hot water and dried on high heat.When I pulled it out I noticed that the cotton outer had shrunk slightly and the silk padding was more unevenly distributed. It’s a lightly filled comforter though and there weren’t any noticeable lumps that I could see or feel. It’s not *perfect*, but still very serviceable.It survived an intense wash and dry cycle so I don’t have to replace it just yet.

I have been a fan of silk pillowcases for a while now and this was my first attempt at a silk duvet and I am obsessed! I like to sleep cool, it is best for rest and restorative sleep. I had tried many other comforters and duvets and this one is BY FAR the best, it is lightweight, cool, feel so nice I am excited to get into bed. I will never touch a synthetic comforter again. My previous bamboo was didn’t breathe that well and even had a wool one – nothing beats this silk duvet. If you are hesitating, don’t! Get this one :))) I rated it 3/5 for value as it is a bit pricey all the rest 5 stars 🙂
