Great pasta pot. Locking lid for draining water is the best!
This Cuisinart pot is nearly identical to my long loved IKEA pasta pot with locking lid but better in many ways! The pot is a nice weight, not overly heavy but isn’t flimsy or cheap feeling. The locking lid is just like my old pot where you put it on and turn the lid to allow you drain pasta without having to hold the lid on. Also, since this is a stainless pot, I won’t have to worry about any non-stick coating eventually flaking off/chipping.One thing to note if you are new to stainless steel pots/pans, if you add salt to your water, DON’T add it to your water prior to boiling. You need to add it when the water is boiling so the salt dissolves and doesn’t sit at the bottom of the pan. It can cause pitting which to my understanding doesn’t affect the product’s performance but will make the pot/pan less pretty.Overall, this is a nice sized, reasonably priced and beautiful looking pot. And the locking lid is perfect.

WHERE HAS THIS BEEN MY WHOLE LIFE?!
This pot has changed my life!! I only wish I’d known about it sooner!! I make pasta/rice/stuff that needs to be strained just about every other day of the week. We eat alot of rice and pasta haha I am done using traditional strainers because I am a germaphobe and don’t like to have the strainer in the sink and the thought of that strained water overflowing yucky sink water into my pasta grosses me out. So then I tried the kind of strainer that stretches across the sink, and that worked okay, but it was a struggle to get the pasta back into the pot when it was done draining and I always ended up making a mess transferring it. I also never liked the built in strianer pots because the pasta would stick to the strainer holes and wouls be such a mess to clean up. But THIS pot solves all of those problems!!!! This pot is bigger than it looks – it is narrow so it looks small, but it holds a TON of water! It is also so lightweight and easy to clean, I love that it is dishwasher safe! It does take awhile to heat up, maybe ten or so munutes, especially when you fill it with alot of water, but that is to be expected, especially since it has holes that release some of the steam. But I just plan ahead and get it going early since I know it takes a minute. One of the best features about this pot is the handles, they don’t get hot! They get warm, but I have not ended up needing oven mitts to hold the handles at all. And lastly, the best feature of all, the straining lid! It is pretty easy to figure out, it took me a few tries to figure out which way to spin for a good lock and how to unlock it. It’s super important to make sure it is locked properly, so give the lid handle a few pulls to make sure it’s secure before straining! I am going to buy another one as soon as I can afford it, and I highly recommend this pot!

Make straining hot liquids safe and easy
This 6 Qt pot has the right depth and width for our gas stove top cooking. Good quality without being too heavy.

It’s Functional and the Right Size for 2 to 4 serving
We already have an 8-qt Tramontina Lock & Drain Pasta Cooker. We’ve been very happy with it for many years. It is extremely functional and well-built, but we need to have one for 2 or 3 servings. So, we recently purchased a 6-qt Cuisinart for easy access and quick cleaning. We are not disappointed with the simplistic design and functionality aspects of it, but what I am disappointed with are:. Too light. I don’t feel much heftiness at all when I move it around. With $39, I was expecting more substance.. The locking mechanism works, but it doesn’t look sturdy and well-designed, meaning if you happen to bump the locking areas, it could damage both sides of the locking mechanism.I definitely wasn’t expecting All-clad quality with my purchase, but was expecting more. I actually don’t mind paying a little more for better quality.NOTE: After many months of use, I’ve decided to upgrade my rating to five stars due to its easy cleaning and simple functionality.

Nice
The pot is nice, I wish the handles came out a little further, so I could get a better grip without burning my hands on the side of the pot. The locking feature seems to work well, and it is a convenient pot to make spaghetti or potatoes.

Our previous pot didn’t work well on the new induction hob, so we had to replace it. The first test cooking pasta with this pot was a resounding success. The handles did not get as hot as I had feared, the lid closes tightly with no chance of spillage. For now highly recommended.

The quality and base thickness is great. These are comparable to some of the high end ones at 1/4 of the cost. Great large size for cooking pasta, rice or stew. The built in simple strainer locking mechanism is commendable.P.s I have only used them on a gas range.

I really want to love it. But whenever i decide tomuse it, its takes forever for water to boil on an electric stove and once it boils and you drop the pasta inside, it takes another while to boil again… I am not sure how to rate it…?! But these are my observations…..
