From the high peaks of the Andes Mountains, where alpacas have grazed for thousands of years, comes the world’s most exceptional alpaca wool. Bred in Peru for its natural luster, silky softness, and warmth, this noble fiber has long been cherished as one of the true treasures of the Incas. Unlike ordinary wool, Peruvian alpaca is light, strong, and naturally hypoallergenic. Free from lanolin and harsh chemicals, it provides a cleaner, healthier sleep environment—gentle on sensitive skin and resistant to allergens. Its hollow-core fibers regulate temperature with remarkable precision, keeping you warm in winter, cool in summer, and perfectly comfortable all year long. Alpaca wool stands proudly among the world’s rarest luxury fibers—alongside cashmere, mohair, and angora—yet offers unique resilience and natural fire resistance. With its unmatched softness and superior thermo-regulating properties, it creates the perfect foundation for deep, restorative sleep.

Very warm, nice weight. I’m happy I purchased this organic alpaca wool comforter.

Best of the best
This is the best duvet I have ever used for winter time. I live in Chicago and I like to keep my home temp around 65 which might be too chill for sleep at night. So I like some super warm duvet. I have used regular wool one for a long time. Compare to my old wool duvet, this one is lighter, softer and even warmer. I love this duvet so much even it is a little pricey but I feel it worth every penny as it would last for a long time and gives me warm sleep every night.

Natural Duvet Insert is a Great Buy But
We recently decided to upgrade our bedding after moving to a tropical environment. I wanted as natural of a product to allow for breathability. We keep our house at 70 during the evening and have an overhead ceiling fan. I read a bunch of reviews that said they were comfortable with this weight duvet at those temperatures and it met my environmental wickets so I went ahead and made this investment. My husband runs much hotter than I do and is uncomfortable most nights with the temperature set to 70. I’m usually comfortable throughout the night but it does get hot occasionally. Overall, if you live somewhere the normal temperature is well over 70 year round, I’d suggest keep searching. The quality is great, it’s soft, and definitely warm. If we still lived up in New England, this would be the perfect duvet. For the south, it’s definitely going to have to get swapped out in the summer months.

so far so good
When we redoing our bedroom I knew I no longer wanted down, I was tired of the feathers and the noise(the last one we go was awful. Looked at wool and silk before deciding on this one. It fit easily in my duvet and there is no smell. It has kept us warm, but not to hot(It is humid where we live so out air is on 69F). This has kept my husband warm, but also has not been to hot for my hot flashes. Nice weight doesn’t feel heavy but it stays put when we move around. So far we are very happy with it. This is not a negative, because I knew this before purchasing but I hate it can’t be laundered I have pets so that is always a concern, but all the positives out weighed the negatives and so far we are extremely happy with the purchase.I bought a king for our queen size bed, because my husband and I are cover hogs and I wanted the extra width.

While I was ordering this comforter there were just four reviews and the seller’s page (Ave Maria – it looks like this comforter is the only bedding item they sell) looked a bit strange comparing with the other sellers…But I decided to give it a try. It’s been almost a week and so far we really enjoy it. It’s very well made, warm, and light comforter. It’s our first try with the Alpaca wool, transferring from down comforter. My main reason was in choosing alpaca is to go for healthier and more sustainable alternative to down comforters. The only thing that is not clear to me: that description says “100% Organic Cotton” and the comforter’s tag shows 100% cotton with no organic certification anywhere. But the quality of fabric is very good and there are no chemical odors.I will update later but so far we are very happy with our purchase.

Size up
This was bought because our new dog will sometimes sleep on our bed and I didn’t want her ruining the down comforter. It is a good weight for Pacific Northwest nights. We sleep with the window open, usually 30 to 40 degrees outside, so the room gets to 50 or so by morning. Perfect for my hot blooded husband. I occasionally need a second blanket on my side. Dog can lie on top without squashing feathers. I do very much like the alpaca filling, and as it’s not washable i keep it well protected. The problem is the size. We sleep in a king bed, got the king size comforter, and find there is very little overhang. For over $400 I would expect at least a foot extra, and there are barely 6 inches on either side. One reviewer already mentioned buying a king size for a queen bed. No way to size up from a king. Otherwise the quality is very good, but there is no excuse for being cheap and skimpy for the price I paid.

How did I miss this?!?!
After a lifetime of polyster comforters and duvets, we made the jump to wool 2 weeks ago. After doing a lot of research, which is quite difficult as it’s not super popular, we decided to go with alpaca over sheep wool as we hoped it’s both kinder to the animals and because of how it performs in comparison. What a world of difference from that very first night. We have 100% linen duvet covers/fitted sheet/pillows so our bed is nearly 100% natural. It felt completely different than anything I’ve ever slept under before. We had at first started shopping for a fluffy hotel like duvet insert and this is not that but I realized fluffy doesn’t equal comfort.I frequently find myself wanting to just get under it for 10-30 minutes throughout the day even though my furnace is on, there is just something so comforting about this comforter that immediately (no exaggeration) warms me up inside.Buy it and a linen duvet cover, ditch your top sheet, and enjoy a whole new way of sleeping.

One Star
Perfect until cat peed on it. Washed on hand cycle ruined it.
