Super Yummy!
I’ve been putting this delicious, clean powder in my morning smoothies for years. Spirulina has special abilities far above and beyond what even a vast amount of scientific research has uncovered. It’s slightly savory and salty, and goes well even on spaghetti – at least I think so. If you don’t like the taste of greens you will probably find spirulina a little raunchy to be perfectly honest, but even my landlord who doesn’t eat health food will let me sprinkle some into food and never complained about the flavor even once.There is one thing I dislike; however, and only a long time Imla’Kesh enjoyer like myself would know, but the old jars they had were crazy strong, and the smooth hip of the jar made them great for drinking smoothies out of. I only have a few of the old jars left, unfortunately, but I once dropped one with a fully heavy metal detox smoothie in the dark from about three feet right onto asphalt with just a dent on the lid to show for it.

Spirulina and Chlorella are wonderful foods. Look into how they assist in the process of reducing heavy metals in your body (and how many health issues can be attributed in part or whole to heavy metal toxicity). Love the source of this spirulina, and love the company.

I really love this brand Imlakesh Organics. I bought their cocoa powder before. I love the packaging metal jar! The color looks nice! As I open the jar the smell was off putting. Then I knew to prepare for the taste. I mix all my powders with milk. And, this is what you must know before you buy spirulina has a slippery texture and a smell and flavor os seaweed fish sort of combination. It is sweet. But it is not something I would ever want to drink again. So I think this company is awesome, I just don’t think spirulina is for me.

NOT packages in a glass jar
Despite what the website says, this item is NOT packaged in glass but instead in some sort of plastic/aluminum can with an ill fitting lid

My fave weird smoothie ingredient
I didn’t read this listing closely, so when I opened the package I was pleasantly surprised at how large this jar is. Spirulina is very hard to find around here and if I can find it at all, it’s terribly expensive. This huge jar will last me years (I only use it for smoothies) and the price is incredibly reasonable. I have decanted some into a smaller jar and stored the rest in a cool, dark place to keep it fresh. It tastes like my usual brand of spirulina and has a very deep teal/green color that I am used to seeing from quality spirulina, so I have no doubt that that’s exactly what is in this jar. The only thing that gave me pause is that the only form of security on the jar is a very, very, very thin paper label that tears once you open the lid. I was at least expecting a foil seal over the lid of the jar itself and I’m surprised that something like this doesn’t have that kind of safety seal. Knowing that, I probably wouldn’t order this again. I like it fine, but a product like this should have more safety assurance in place than a flimsy paper label on the external part of the lid. I don’t like feeling like maybe I got lucky this time. I hope this issue is addressed by the manufacturer.
