Organic mascara from a trusted company
I have been using INIKA Organic Long Lash Mascara for several days now. I love the fact that it has healthy ingredients that nourish my lashes (essential fatty acids, Castor Seed oil). The brush works on my lashes; it’s long, thin, and it separates my lashes well. My lashes are long, fine, and straight.And here’s the problem with this mascara, and I haven’t ever had this problem before: it straightens my lashes. I curl my lashes like crazy before I use mascara. Why? Because…I want curled lashes. My lashes are much more visible if I curl them. Otherwise, they point straight out and not up. When they point UP, their length is noticeable. When they point straight, no one can really tell that they are long and lush. So when I curl my lashes and use this mascara, after this first swipe, suddenly my lashes seem to revert…back to straight? This happens every single time I use this particular mascara. No, it does not happen with other mascaras. Only this one.I suspect that something in the lengthening formulation is straightening my lashes. Certainly, they appear quite lengthy. And the staying power of this mascara is wonderful. The first day I wore this, it stayed on for at least eight hours straight without traveling to my under eyes. So this stays on.I have worn this for the past few days, and it does stay put. I recommend this mascara, especially if you are committed to organic cosmetics.

No, not cheap but worth the money
This is a very good quality mascara in terms of ingredients used. It makes me happy to use something as clean as this mascara on my eyes. I appreciate that this mascara is made of 100% natural and vegan ingredients.Now as far as the functionality is concerned, i love that this mascara separates really well without clumping. However, I do not get a whole lot of volume or length with this mascara. In order to get the volume effect i want, i have to apply at least 3 coats which i don’t mind doing. The good thing about this mascara is that, even with multiple coats it is still very neat and clump free so i can go on and on layering without worrying too much about my lashes turning clumpy. I also observed that this mascara lifts my lashes well. I have short, sparse and straight natural lashes and this mascara lift and curls my lashes quite noticeably even without using the eyelash curler. I only wish it was a little more lengthening than what it is since my lashes desperately need length.This mascara lasts all day on me and it is quite easy to remove.This mascara is definitely not cheap but i really appreciate the clean ingredients and i love the effect i get with this mascara so for me, this mascara is worth the price. I will be happy to recommend it if you are looking for a clean mascara.

Effective and Lasting Mascara
This is a very nice mascara. It is lightweight and does not clump, and is adds nicely to the length, curl, and volume of the lashes. It is easy to apply and spreads very nicely. It stays on well throughout the day, and doesn’t smudge or smear.

Works well at first, but product dries out quickly
I love a higher-end mascara, and was excited to try the Inika Long Lash Mascara in black, particularly because it’s 100% vegan, and made with all-natural ingredients. Inika is the world’s first plastic-neutral makeup brand, meaning that they fund for the full removal and recycling of the minimal plastic their products use, and 90% of their packaging is from recycled and resourced materials. I love the mission statement, but hit a couple snags with the mascara itself.The formula was a bit clumpy when I first pulled out the wand, but went on very easily and looked fantastic. Because my lashes are a bit sparse, volume is what I look for most in a mascara, and it indeed made them look fuller. It also lengthened them, which isn’t as important to me, but is always nice. I used three coats, which is generally my limit before my lashes start to look spidery, on both the top and bottom lashes. The brush made it easier to grab the inner, smaller lashes, and I was impressed. There was minimal smudging, and the formula has decent staying power. I did touch them up once in an 8 hour day, as I do with all of my makeup, and my lashes weren’t resistant because they weren’t brittle, which I attribute to the natural ingredients and not applying too many coats initially.The mascara came off easily with a bit of Vaseline, which is how I’ve taken eye makeup off my entire life. I was very impressed overall.The unfortunate deal-breaker was how quickly the formula dried out. I used this for two weeks, and after the first few days, noticed that there was less color on my lashes, and the “wow” factor wasn’t there. I made sure to put the cap on tightly, but I think the product dried out, as I couldn’t get close to the results of the first few days. It was a bummer, because they really looked great at first, and as a near lifelong wearer of contact lenses, there was little to no eye irritation.It’s challenging to find a mascara that performs to my liking without it having a flaw or two, ie smudging or flaking, and this would be worth the price if it hadn’t dried out so quickly. I hope that Inika works on this, because otherwise, I’d have given it 5 stars.

Disappointed
Unfortunately I think I may have gotten an old product or perhaps a bad batch. When I first opened the mascara, the formula looked matte but now I think it may have just been a bit dried out. I tried to apply the mascara but the product would barely get on my lashes and the bit that did, wouldn’t build up or coat my lashes at all. I tried multiple coats but the more I brushed the more the mascara came off on the wand. It did not coat my lashes or extend them at all. Very disappointing.
