Works well for my usage
I use these as a prefilter for my Levoit air purifier filters. I cut to size and tape them together around my filter with duct tape at the seam. This prolongs the life of my more expensive filters. I can pull it off and wash it as well when it starts to trap dust. My purifier has a built-in sensor for when the filter needs replacing. I used to replace them around every 6 months. Now when it sets off, I just wash my prefilter and vacuum out the air purifier filter and I’m back in business. Well worth the money and time.

I used carbon filter material for my central air ducts and my air filters/purifiers. It is nice to have this option that can be cut to fit whatever size. This product is quality.

Great stuff. Cut to fit for compost bins, air purifiers, etc.
We have one of those steel compost bins in the kitchen. Every once in a while it needs a new carbon filter in the lid. You can generally find pre-cut carbon filters that will fit the lid, but they are a little expensive. We also have stove hood filters that use a stainless steel mesh filter, but do little to alleviate the smells of cooking.With this large 16″x48″ carbon filter sheet, I was able to cut several round replacement filters for our compost bin (and a couple of extras for the in-laws), plus carbon filters for our stove hood. And I still had enough leftover for a replacement carbon filter for our Fellowes air purifier. The material cuts easily with a decent pair of scissors and does a good job preventing and removing odors.

Middle-of-the-road
I got this to replace the carbon filter above my stovetop – the fan is not vented to the outside.Disassembling the previous filter was easy enough, and I ran it through the dishwasher, along with the grease catching filter, to get is completely degreased. This material fit in place quite easily.Overall, it is not nearly as carbon-coated as the original but is better than inexpensive replacement filters that cost (for a pair) about the same as this whole sheet. So to me, this comes out somewhere in the middle.I tested this 4 ways:1) inexpensive replacement from another manufacturer (thin coating). It was noted that the smell of the cooking was as if I didn’t filter,2) this padding, single layer. It was noted that the odor was reduced a bit, not a huge difference – just noticeable,3) this padding, double layer. It was noted that the odor was reduced even more and made a difference,4) this padding, double layer, aquarium activated charcoal added between. It was noted that the odor was as strong as if I cooked about an hour or so ago instead of right then.Regardless of the filter method, grease is always an issue. It’s impossible to fry/high-temp-cook foods indoors and not have grease smoke when the hood is unvented! So the goal was just odor reduction.I’m willing to pay about $10 for this padding and add some additional activated charcoal (beats baking soda in the fridge any day, too) – this sheet should supply me for about 2 years (keeping it vacuum-sealed) and I get decent results.I’m not willing to pay $40 for OEM replacement filters every six months ($160 for 2 years!) to get decent results.Non-vented hoods are notoriously not-so-great. This is an inexpensive way to at least keep it working as expected, rather than worse.

I could find nothing available locally, (New Zealand), that matches this. A good product, very effective at filtering out the baddies before they get into the range hood fan mechanism and exit vent.Reasonable price, prompt service. Well done.

much thicker than other carbon filters
This carbon filter is much thicker than any of the other brands that I have purchased in the last several years. Very little light gets through, unlike some that look like screen material. Also, no odor which is helpful. I wish they could figure out how to send these as rolls instead of folded because the folds keep it from laying flat for awhile, but that is not a flaw with this excellent filter.

Le filtre est arrivé plié plusieurs fois. Impossible d’avoir un filtre “plat”, à cause des plis. En plus, le filtre est beaucoup plus fin que les autres. Du gâchis !!
