So far, so good…..
For anyone who can’t use retinoids (like me) because of ultra super sensitive skin, Bakuchoil is something that is absolutely worth checking out. I’m less than 2 weeks in with this serum, and so far fingers crossed 🤞🏻 I’ve had zero issues with rednesss, sensitivity or breakouts. Bakuchoil is a plant based ingredient that mimics the results of ingredients (like retinoids) but it seems to be much more easily tolerated. I’m also prone to eczema, and haven’t had any issues with that either. The consistency is very thin…you really only need a few drops. It absorbs quickly into the skin without leaving any oily residue feel behind…perfect for using under your favorite moisturizer. I’m only using it with my PM routine for now, but you could use it AM and PM if desired. If you’ve never tried a product with Bakuchiol before, and are worried about sensitivity, try using it by mixing a couple of drops into your moisturizer at first- that’s a good way to introduce it into a routine when you have extremely sensitive skin. I’m 54, and while I wouldn’t consider Bakuchiol to be the fountain of youth, I feel like I have benefited from it. For me, the biggest improvement is with texture and super fine lines…every little bit helps 🤭💁🏼♀️. This product feels really nice going on, and just feel cushioning…making my skin feel more supple. I think the gentle exfoliation helps my moisturizer to absorb better, allowing me to get the benefits of both the serum AND favorite moisturizer. I’ve only ever used one other product line with this key ingredient (PaulasChoice) and not only does the Reviva Labs brand work just as well for me, it’s a bit more budget friendly. I love that it’s made in the USA. In doing a deep dive research of the Reviva Labs brand itself, they seem to use powerhouse, naturally derived ingredients giving their products the ability to benefit the skin in multiple ways.I get to try a lot of skincare thru Amazon Vine Program, and there are very VERY few products that I will actually go back and buy once the product is gone, but I will be replacing my PC Bakuchoil serum with this one. The word that just keeps popping into my mind with this is SUPPLE. My skin feels that way once it’s applied, and still feels just as soft and cushioned by the next morning.

Lightweight and subtle – I see a nice vibrance after 1 month of use so far
I’ve been using this about a month now. I see a difference in overall clarity in my skin, though I’m concentrating the application to around my eyes and my neck. I love the Reviva products and have been using 1 for over 35 years. This serum is subtle and very lightweight – almost like water. The applicator is a pump which gives you a set amount per pump. I don’t like the idea of actual retinol as I had been burned – literally – in the past, so this alternative is a great solution. I would say what I really see is a vibrance to my skin since I began using this serum. No scent also which is important to me. Very happy so far with the results I see.

Nice Light Serum
A light serum. Does not break me out or irriate my skin (I have sensitive skin). Fragrance is light and not bothersome. I believe it comes from the natural additives. I don’t know if it’s doing anything in particular yet to my complexion other than softness. I got it to replace Rx Retinol.

A lovely hydrating serum with no harmful ingredients
For several months over one winter, I was using a retinol product on my face, and my skin looked wonderful. I had clear skin and a healthy glow, and I was very happy with the product. However, as soon as the days got warmer and I started spending more time in the sun, my skin became visibly damaged despite my use of a mineral sunscreen, and I discovered first hand why there are so many warnings about sun exposure on retinol skincare items. I immediately stopped using it and eventually my skin returned to normal, but it was a lesson I wished I had learned by reading and not through experience.I had never heard of Bakuchiol before I saw this serum, but I’ve spent time looking into it and it does seem to have good real-world data backing it’s use as a retinol alternative. It certainly has a lovely soothing effect on my skin when I apply it at the end of the day. I prefer to use it in the evenings when I have more time to massage it into my skin, and I find the jasmine scent to be incredibly relaxing.I love that it doesn’t have mineral oils, parabens, or phthalates, as I’m very careful to avoid those ingredients in anything I consume or put on my skin. I know it will take some more time to see clear results from the Bakuchiol extract, but so far it’s a very moisturizing serum that makes my skin feel lovely.

A little on the thinner side, but not a complete deal breaker…
I ordered this serum because quite frankly my skin could use a little extra moisture especially in these Midwest winter months and I have to say that for the most part I really like this.The scent is light which is great because I like to work this into my nighttime routine and have a very sensitive gag reflex, it goes on easily and absorbs into my skin well leaving it feeling hydrated and soft to the touch and I love that a little really goes a long way.I also really have noticed overall improvement in skin although I’ve only used it a few times since receiving it, and it’s added bonus that most of the ingredients in this are things that I have either used before or at least heard of.4 stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️I do wish that the consistency was a bit thicker, but that isn’t a complete deal breaker for the aforementioned reasons.
