Similar to normal toothpaste, works just as well
In terms of appearance, the toothpaste looks like any ordinary white toothpaste which I was pretty surprised. I was assuming with the addition of charcoal, there would be some hints or specs of black in there but I really couldn’t find any. In terms of taste within the mouth, it is slightly minty although not very powerful and doesn’t linger for long either. I think it’s also dependent on how much is applied onto the toothbrush but I would say I use a fairly decent amount covering from one end of the tip to the other but it isn’t as minty as some of the others that I have used. I don’t really notice it whitening my teeth but I do feel hygienically clean afterwards which is really what matters. It isn’t perfect by all means but at the end of the day, it is toothbrush and it’s meant to protect and clean the teeth and I feel that it does that for me.

Wish this had fluoride
I like this toothpaste – it’s thick and tastes very minty and clean. From my research, hydroxyapatite does have pretty solid scientific evidence supporting it. It is snow-white, so I don’t know where they’re hiding the charcoal, but from what I know of charcoal, it works by adsorption, which doesn’t happen much in a brief tooth-brushing session anyway, so whatever. My main beef is the lack of fluoride. Since when is it a trend to ignore the official recommendation of the American Dental Association that fluoride is good for your teeth? I hate that I have to forgo fluoride to have hydroxyapatite. Well, I refuse. I use half of this product and half Crest so I can have both hydroxyapatite and fluoride. -1 star for pandering to the anti-science crowd.
