Previous buyer (review after 3 years of use)! Great product!!
I have had these wool balls for over 3 years, and they are just now starting to wear and lose ability to remove static cling. Not having to use dryer sheets for the past 3 years has made the value of these wool balls worth it. There is no scent. They are easy to use; just throw them in the dryer. They work so well with dryer time and static cling. I am here writing a review because I am ordering my second set after having them for 3 years now; that just goes to show how amazing these balls are!!

Wool dryer balls.
Wool dryer balls. Just as described. There is no scent but they stop wrinkles and improve drying time. I really like this product.

Well worth chasing across the utility room floor!!! (has updates)
I waited a full year before writing this review, even though I was thoroughly impressed with Woolzies XL the very first week. These babies really do work! Will they improve your dryer’s performance? … YES. Will they totally eliminate *all* static in your laundry? … NO, but dryer sheets won’t either, and the sheets don’t help the clothes get dry faster.I dry approximately 10 loads a week. After a year of use, the Woolzies have a few pills and one even has a small chunk missing thanks to my dog who chases and retrieves balls much more efficiently than I. The Woolzies utilize escape tactics when you’re removing laundry from the dryer, but they are well worth chasing across the floor between loads. Your skills of keeping them contained will improve once you learn their tactics. Although not a pretty as they once were, the Woolzies are still fully functional and look as though they will go another year. (see the photo I’ve uploaded of a new Woolzie next to my originals that are 18 months old). One reviewer mentioned that they will get in the corners of sheets, etc., which is true, but it does not stop them from tumbling around — they just take the sheet with them. They will fall in and out of sheet corners many times during a cycle.Even though my dryer has the sensor that is supposed to end the drying cycle only after the contents are actually dry, it never seemed to work out that way. Unless I was drying microfleece or very thin knits, my clothes and other laundry was never completely dry when the dryer stopped. If I were drying jeans or towels, it was not unusual to run the dryer 2 or 3 times before achieving total dryness. It NEVER happens anymore. No matter how heavy or thick the load, the laundry is dry when the buzzer goes off. The clothes are beautifully wrinkle free as well. Polyester knits still have static issues if the weather is really dry (which rarely happens in Louisiana), but a can of Static Guard Static Cling Spray, Fresh Scent, 5.5 oz. kept nearby takes care of the occasional clinging issue.Overall, I know without a doubt that I have saved enough to pay for these several times over, when you figure electricity and the elimination of dryer sheets from my shopping list. These are much better than the competing brands, especially the little plastic ones with bumps, which crack fairly quickly and make a lot of noise bouncing around. These only produce little muffled thunks, instead of steady thuds (you get used to it pretty quickly and the sound disappears into white noise). I recommend these wholeheartedly and they also make a wonderful gift.***UPDATE***: Eighteen months into my use of Woolzies, I got a new HUGE dryer, so I purchased another set of Woolzies to throw in with the old ones. I uploaded a photo which shows exactly what an old, heavily used Woolzie ball looks like next to a brand new one that has never been used. The box that contained my new Woolzies actually reads that the pilling on the Woolzies help them work even better. I’m not removing the pills!FINAL UPDATE: After four years and thousands of loads, I am starting to retire the original Woolzies. With the large capacity of the dryer, I use 18. The original balls are very loosely bound, and many started to unravel. My cat really enjoys batting them around, and doing the final unraveling. I then cut them into pieces and use them as part of the stuffing for pet beds. Nothing goes to waste.

Decent Substitution for Dryer Sheets
I decided to get wool dryer balls after having a lot of trouble getting my severe asthma under control. The fragrances and chemicals in traditional dryer sheets were exacerbating my asthma so they had to go. I tried just drying clothes with nothing for awhile but they came out a little stiff (much like they would off a clothes line on a windy day) and there was a lot of static.Other reviews promised that these dryer balls would eliminate static, leave clothes soft and reduce drying time. These dryer balls do NOT eliminate static. They seem to help some but if you dry natural fabrics with synthetic fabrics together you’ll still get some static. The Woolzies dryer balls DID leave clothes nice and soft and seem to have cut drying time a bit.I have no intentions of going back to traditional dryer sheets after finding dryer balls. I love not having to keep buying dryer sheets and it makes me feel good no longer having to throw out a dryer sheet after load of laundry. The dryer balls have been friendly to my asthma, my wallet and the environment.**~3 months after purchase: So far these dryer balls have held up very well. There is slight pilling on the surface but not enough to be bothersome. Still working as intended. I had to wash every blanket, every article of clothing and everyone towel after moving due to someone smoking in the mover’s van so I’ve done A LOT of loads of laundry. I’m very happy with how my dryer balls are holding up.

I can’t believe I waited so long to get these. In my case, there was no difference in the end results with these vs. dryer sheets. No static, and it did dry quicker.I think it’s important to note that dryers shouldn’t be overloaded, and the clothes should be allowed to tumble, which is probably why clothes dry faster with these – they help with the tumbling. Also, they do reduce larger materials from wrapping around other materials, such as fitted sheets. There is a slight tumbling sound, but it’s a lot quieter than I anticipated. I compared it to the sound of say, a loose zipper or metal button scraping the dryer, and it’s nowhere near as noisy as other sounds I’ve heard from other regular loads.I like the eco-friendly factor and the reusability of the wool balls.I’ve noticed there’s less lint in the lint catcher. Whether that’s a good or bad thing, I’m not sure.

love them!! they make my babies clothes alot softer! i use only organic washing powder with no conditioner! this makes them just as soft as using conditioner! once clothes are dry, i put a few drops of essential oils on the wool balls and put the drier on a cool ‘freshen up’ spin, makes the clothes smell divine and same for the house.

Lieferzeit war in Ordnung.Der erste Trocknergang war auch ok. Aber bei der zweiten Benutzung STANK meine Wäsche mörderisch nach Schaf- oder Pferdemist.kann ich so nicht weiterempfehlen!

I’m not new to wool dryer balls. I needed a new set and decided to purchase these. They do the job but do have a bit of a pong about them. Dare I say the smell is a bit farm yard. As they used the smell is diminishing but if you find the smell off putting note it does transfer a little to your clothes. They do however speed up drying time which is a bonus on many front.
