Super Deal Air Purifier Pre filter & Smokeless Ashtray
I used this originally to cut into pieces and replace my battery powered smoke filtering cigarette ashtray filters because the filters made for the ashtray are 3 for almost the same price as a whole sheet of this which I can probably get over 30 filters out of. Then it came up in a conversation with my Dad that he uses the same thing as a pre filter in his home air purifiers. So when I got home I cut out a piece to fit my little table top purifier and installed it. Now my filters are lasting longer and I think it cleans the air even better.

Mixed feelings
I have mixed feelings about this big bundle of carbon filter stuff I bought. Originally I thought wow what a great way to save money on carbon filters for my air purifiers. Well.. sure in a way but really it’s a huge hassle to trim this roll of carbon filter to fit my air filters so usually I just default to buying the carbon air filters that are made to go with the air filter machine because they fit and it’s not a lot of work to replace them. So, if you are the kind of person who likes spending 45 minutes changing an air filter just for the thrill of doing the measuring and cutting yourself, then a big old bundle of carbon filter will be perfect for you. Me personally I would rather just take the pre-cut filter out the box and put it in the air filter machine and be done with it in like 30 seconds. And I am willing to pay a couple of dollars for the convenience. So, sometimes you have an idea you want to save money and then you encounter the reality of what saving money really entails. A lot of pointless detail work.

Bought to go in Range Hood Fan
We wanted something that would help with odor and smoke. The sheets can be cut to fit odd sized range hood which we had to buy to fit space when remodeled. The sheets were easy to cut with scissors and easy to clean with warm/hot soapy water. There was enough in the pack that while drying one sheet, you have another to use while the cleaned one dries. A good amount of charcoal filter sheet for the cost.

Measurements aren’t exact
I didn’t measure the length because I cut a piece off and installed it in my air purifier. The height seemed a bit short so I measured it and it was 15 3/4″ instead of 16″. I only noticed because it didn’t fully cover the grate and left a little bit of a gap.

Very good carbon pad — easy to cut to the size you need. I used it for my dehumidifier, and it fits perfectly. Much cheaper than buying the original filters and works just as well. Great value for money!

So I have a neighbour who son smokes weed. It’s very pungent and making me sick. it drifts to my place. Even with doors and windows shut. He chooses his back door step, which faces my kitchen and backdoor. So I cut this to size put 2 panels into my split system air con. This would be max..thickness. A few strips along window. Another short panel for the toilet window( all these face my back yard to him) so far so good. Seems effective at minimising outdoor odors. Other neighbours close by sometimes cook strong smelling food. Will know more in long term but for now it’s suitable also added small strips to my small air purifier. I need to get higher grade filter but for now it is effective. Would recommend as temporary solution before upgrading to better quality.
