The Standard Activated Carbon Block filters are made of fine coconut shell carbon. They remove odors, undesirable colors, and unpleasant tastes of many organic compounds. These filters also are effective in removing chemicals like iron, manganese, chlorine, and hydrogen sulfide from your water to name a few. By removing these unwanted byproducts, you can rest assured that you will have access to fresh and clean water. Since these filters are made of a finely packed carbon (forming a cylinder block), they offer a much finer filtration of suspended particles and dirt.
Chlorine removal is what carbon is best at, and nothing else equals carbon’s ability to remove chlorine.
What is Activated Carbon Block?

I have this filter inline with 2bother filters that remove dirt and whatever else but the carbon filter is used to remove Chlorine and other bad tasting items. Been using carbon filters for a number of years now.

We have safe spring water that is clear and tastes good, but still contains particulates. These filters do a great job of keeping our fixtures clear of clogged aerators, and the water also appears a bit more clear with the use of the filters vs no filter.

Not trusting the city water that comes out of the tap I filter all my water through 2 of these.These filters are very good, and filter out chemicals the city water department doesn’t and removed chlorine and fluoride they add – both poisonous when they over-treat the water.

Did not remove chlorine bleach from the water!
Did not perform as indicated to remove chlorine bleach taste and odor from the water system. We here in Hawaii are on water catchment systems and have to treat the water tanks ourselves using chlorine bleach and baking soda to balance out ph. I have been using premium Pentair polydepth filters and their high flow premium carbon filters and they remove 99.9% of the chlorine bleach so even test strips don’t indicate anything present, and my customers say the water tastes great with no residual taste. But when using these coconut fiber filters my customers complained that they smelled and tasted chlorine bleach and felt it on their skin when taking a shower. When I went back to their home and tested the water after the filters, sure enough the chlorine Beach was greatly reduced to what was in the water source but there was still plenty present to indicate on a test strip and most definitely smelled like a very strong smelling swimming pool. This was not acceptable for myself or my customers! I do not recommend these things if you have an issue with water taste that you’re trying to eliminate.
