Not strong enough for pressure
I love the idea of it, but it’s just not strong enough and crinkles like paper. I put this in 1/10/26 and this is today 1/14/26, only 4 days later. Regular filters do this too over time. I was hoping to prevent that. I do have a high methane concentration and very fine particles that go through both a 10 and 5 micron filter. My well water is awful and gray after a methane eruption. It then goes through a massive filtration system.

Too tall
It only fit if I removed the silicone seals on each end. After that, it was a good fit. It may have some debris leak by, but it’s a sediment filter so not a big deal. I know it’s a good fit because I measured the height against a regular filter using a height gauge. I also measured the height of the housing with the stainless filter installed. That is how I knew it was too tall, it wouldn’t screw all the closed.

Good first filter for well water to protect finer filters down the line.
This is a well made sediment filter for using to filter out large particles, rust, and debris from well water. I used this as a pre-filter on my incoming well water line, followed by a whole house descale unit, and then a finer filter for incoming water, and I use reverse osmosis filtering for individual sinks. This was fairly easy to install, but I did change out the seals in order to make it fit properly in the old canister, which was a bit short for this cartridge, but it was easy to find at a hardware store, and I doubt I will ever need to replace it again. The beauty of this whole filter is that it is cleanable and reusable, so you buy it once, and your done investing money, you just clean it a few times a year, which is simple to do. Other than the adjustment to make it fit correctly, this was easy to install, and it does an excellent job of keeping the one time use filters down the line in top shape much longer. I noticed no taste or smell after installation and some use, so I’m very happy with the performance. I can recommend this filter.

Taller than 10″ with gaskets
Absolutely would not fit in my filter housing with gaskets on both ends. I removed the gaskets and it fit. Needs to be 1/4″ shorter. I’m still going to use it but frustrated the gaskets won’t fit.
