beautiful and nicethe craftsmanship for this kettle is quite nice, and it brings quite a bit fashion to the kitchen. it is certainly not the cheapest out there (at least at the time of my purchase), but it certainly brings good value for the money if you want some design elements without paying outrageous amount of money (think SMEG).functionally speaking, it works like any other electrical kettle, it does have a water temperature gauge but i find that’s more for the aesthetic than function. no one in their mind would use that preciously control the water temperature for brewing tea or coffee.now i have seen all the negative reviews before i buy one, and most complain the cooking time and the noise it makes. I have other two kettles to compare to, including a breville ones. it is true that this boils water slightly slower due to 1500W vs 1800W, and makes noise slightly longer during rumbling phase (when the kettle makes most noise as the steam bubbles hits surrounding cool water creating the characteristic “roar” of a heating kettle, right before full boil). I would say that those complains aren’t valid for majority of users, and if you are one that very sensitive to boiling noise, you may have to get a dual wall boiler.now there is a down side, not enough for me to deduct one star, but a down side: the chrome side against the handle is not insulated or doubled walled. so if you holding the handle, you finger are next to the kettle, which is at boiling temperature. it looks from the picture that chrome part is thicker and therefore you would think it would be insulated, but it isn’t. lucky that the grab is wide enough so there isn’t likely that you would touch the side, but there is also a version with water level display in place of the chrome, I would get that if you are concerned about the burning.

Oh my gosh. I bought this to replace a similar kettle from another brand on Amazon that pitted after a year. With the cost of living increases I decided to try this out based on other reviews. Firstly it is indeed brand new. I determined that by doing the prescribed water test in the manual. That’s a relief. Secondly the interior appears to be all metal. Also, the handle is very sturdy and does not get hot. Lastly this kettle does not use a standard kettle base which makes me nervous as the last kettle I purchased had a base that stopped working but found that I could use another older base.I did purchase the maintenance add-on. I will update this review in a month as I am already considering ordering another. I plan on being very careful in my daily use and cleaning of the kettle every night. I wipe the interior with a microfiber cloth to dry it out and let it air out on its side overnight as I use the kettle daily.

Noisy but cute and works great!
I love my kettle! It heats up quickly and I love the retro look of it. The only reason I didn’t give it 5 stars is because it’s very noisy while it’s heating. I would, however, purchase again.

Loud noise, outside gets very hot
Color and looks cute, but that’s all. It makes very loud noise while boiling and the body gets very hot and dangerous. Be careful especially if you have small children, they might burn themselves. It has temperature gauges, which is nice to see how hot the water is.
