    Perfect Stove Top Kettle Replacement
Since the COVID pandemic I’ve been drinking more tea and wanted to find a faster alternative to the traditional stove top tea kettle. I heard good things about electric kettles and settled on giving the Hamilton Beach model a try mainly due to price point. They can range from $25 to $120 depending on brand and place you buy it from.Pros- Compact- Quick- Efficient- Easy to operateCons- Exterior can get hot after boilingReviewThis electric kettle did not disappoint. It’s small enough to keep on the countertop without taking up too much space and it cranked out boiling water in under 4 minutes (3 minutes 42 seconds to be exact.) To give you a point of reference my stove top began whistling at 7 minutes. It can’t get easier to use, you fill it and depress the switch on the front. When it’s done, the light shuts off. It holds a max of 1 liter, which is more than enough for a couple cups of tea or steeping coffee with a French press.Temperature wise this unit actually outperformed a traditional tea kettle although not by much. Hamilton Beach = 201.5F, Traditional Kettle = 200.6F.The only downside to the unit was the exterior stainless steel gets extremely hot so you’ll want to keep a minimum clearance around it and keep it away from little hands. This wasn’t a bid deal for me, since we have the room for it.Overall, if you’re looking for a good conventional tea kettle replacement you can’t go wrong with this one, especially at its price point.

    Great little kettle!
Love this little kettle! This was a Christmas gift for my partner and he has used it every day since. It boils water in about a minute or less. We like that the pot is separate from the cord and base making for easy pouring. A good buy!

Keep dry and check for rust
Worked great for a long time, but after about five years, developed rust in the bottom of the kettle

    Great little kettle.
I’ve used electric kettles all my life so far and my daughter wanted one for college which led me to this model as she did not want a larger one and I wanted one that had no plastic in it or glass that could break. The kettle boils water fast and has a positive click sound when it switches off so you know when the water has boiled. It seems durable enough and for the money it is great value. It doesn’t win any awards in the design department but at this price that’s not too much of a criticism.I recommend this kettle to someone looking for a smaller, efficient kettle who doesn’t want to spend a lot of money

    Great product.
Arrived quickly and works as described. No issues found. I’ve had this for like 2 months or so.UPDATE: Originally purchased Feb 7, 2020 and it is now April 22, 2023. After a little over 3yrs of use, finally need to purchase a new electric kettle. The plug started overheating and blowing out electrical fuses in my home at around the 3yr mark. I know it’s this kettle because it doesn’t happen when I use any of my other appliances. I don’t use this kettle everyday, but maybe 2-3x/week. It was great while it lasted, but it’s time for it to go. New electric kettle will be here in a few hours. I decided not to go with this exact same model as the replacement, but it IS in fact a Hamilton Beach branded kettle. There were some things I disliked about this kettle, but it served me well as far as intended purpose. So I’d say you have about 3 good years with this baby before it starts to give you any problems. I don’t remember if I had a warranty on it or for how long, if at all. But it didn’t cost a lot of money so replacing it is no big deal. I think it’s great as a starter electric kettle just to get used to the idea of one. After that you may want to invest in a nicer or higher end one.

    I’m making hot drinks again
I have a coffee maker that I’d use every couple of weeks to make tea or cocoa. Using the microwave makes my cup handle uncomfortably hot so I’d use 1 cup to warm my water and another to drink whatever I was making. Both ways just seemed inconvenient and I’ve bought a stovetop kettle that I used twice before I donated it. I can’t give an exact reason why I didn’t like that – but the coffeemaker was my method of choice until I bought this. As much as I hate giving up more counter space to a dedicated appliance, I really think this is worth giving it up. The reviews are correct – this boils water faster than anything else in my house and I’m talking full rolling boil. Usually I need about 16 oz at a time and it’ll boil by the time I can prepare a cup with teabags. It holds about 4 cups which is about as much boiling water as I ever need. It’s as easy as it gets. The hot plate stays plugged in all the time but it doesn’t activate til a switch on the back of the pot is flipped. Another button on top the handle flips the lid open, but it doesn’t separate from the pot so nothing to lose or drop. Once filled with however much water is needed – and there is a see through scale in back of pot, flip the lid closed. Sit the pot on the plate – I don’t think there is anyway to sit it on incorrectly and the pot swivels freely to put the handle out of the way. Flip the boiling switch and in a flash, water will boil. I don’t know how it works but the switch flips off by itself once it reaches a full boil – so handy. The finish is nice. I have nothing to fault it for. I’ve seen reviews where people have indicated the finish floating into the water. Well, that is the water not this device. I filter my water before boiling it because water here is so hard. Superheating water can cause minerals to precipitate in the water.

Received a damaged product, requested for replacement. Even the replacement received is damaged too.The power cable is literally one feet long, too short to reach any power socket.

I love this kettle and recommend it to all family members. You simply plug it in, remove the kettle from the plate to fill with water, and when replaced, press the lever to heat. It turns off when the water boils. It’s the perfect size kettle as most of us make a cup or mug of tea at a time, but it makes a 5 cup pot of tea if you wish. I bought this latest kettle as a gift for a daughter and she is very happy with it.

Our 1.7L kettle was leaking a lot after a couple years of use, so we decided to purchase another. Went through a lot of reviews but saw a lot of complaints about leaking, etc which scared me away. Thought this was 1.7L when I bought it, but once I started using this the pros outweighed the cons and we’ll be keeping this! Have only been using it for a week so far but have been very pleasantly surprised:PROS:-Mostly metal where it matters (there is a plastic rim around the lid though)-Plastic filter that comes with kettle is REMOVABLE-Very sturdy – lid opens easily and well, and the base actually feels heavier than our old 1.7L one-Compact-Fast boil-Very good bang for your buckCONS:-Since the lid is mostly metal it gets really hot, making refills right after boiling a bit difficult
