Super large 17” pan works well for blending flavors of soups, stews and chili
This is a very large 17” pan made of quality iron. It can be used for extremely high heat for searing large cuts of meat like top sirloin caps or for slow cooking stews, soups and chili. Comes with a single layer of seasoning for rust prevention but will need additional seasoning to improve the cooking surfaces’ non stick properties. I purchased a used pan to reduce the cost but I find that it’s good value for the money. This pan has high walls and is very wide, making it very heavy. I have used it to make smoked chili with phenomenal results.

A perfect skillet for the grill
I am so pleased with this monster skillet! I bought it to use on my 21 inch Vision egg-style grill. I found that with the handles it was a little too wide for the lid to close. I asked a steel fabricator friend to cut one handle off. It fits perfectly on the grill. I did a 20 pound turkey in it for Thanksgiving. Tonight I roasted leg of lamb and potatoes, onions, carrots and parsnips. It was a real hit with our guests.

Get your bake on.
It’s big, beefy and is my new favorite for baking things in. It’s got a factory basic seasoning on it so I recommend throwing a couple more on for maximum performance. If they made a lid for it I wouldn’t need another one.

Wonderful extra large skillet!
This skillet is everything I needed to make amazing dishes – especially the recipes that call for searing the meat on top of the stove before finishing in the same skillet in the oven. I recently made Coq au Vin using this wonderful skillet. It easily held 4 large chicken breasts and 4 thighs and still had room to spare for the sauce and vegetables. It’s perfect for breakfast dishes, baked beans, and casseroles etc. Even though it’s bigger than my stove’s largest burner, the cast iron easily spreads and holds heat to the outer edges of the pan. Absolutely love the cast iron sturdiness. It’s become my favorite cooking apparatus.

It’s BIG BIG BIG
This IS A BIG BIG PAN!!! 😯😊 I originally ordered a 17″pan which was WAY TOO BIG for my stovetop or OVEN.This is a a nice Cast Iron pan. I haven’t used it yet, but it’s small enought to fit in my over & Grill top. I originally purchased it to Cook TOMAHAWK/COWBOY STEAKS. .If you need something BIG to Cook or Roast … Seems like a Great Deal.Btw, I DO MAKE IT A HABIT to PRE-SEASON my CastIron Cookware BEFORE USING. I find it makes it easier to cook with & Clean. Plus, the more you SEASON IT the less the Rough Surfaces.I know someone had complained about this. But lets face it… Cast Iron Cookware is an ENTIRELY DIFFERENT WAY of Cooking/Cleaning. It’s takes practice and in the end, worth it in my Opinion.(My 1st experience with Cast Iron was at a camping trip as a kid. I burnt my breakfast and hand. I said then I WOULD NEVER USE CAST IRON AGAIN! Well, GLAD I GOT BRAVE, and took another TRY… because I use my cookware MORE than my $3000 dollar stainless cookware!I now own a Dutch Oven, 8″ Grill pan, 12″ Grill pan, Griddle and 8″ pan. Love them.

Best iron skillet.
Perfect for many foods. Love the lid I bought separately. Cooks beautifully in the oven, grill or cooktop. Easy to clean. Two handles.

For my purposes, I love it!
My wife made fun of me for buying this…We use it quite frequently on our induction cook top and when I am smoking/grilling. It’s decent quality and didn’t have to be sanded smooth like some cheap cast iron pieces I have bought. For my purposes, I love it.

I got a great deal. Current price at $150~ a lot higher than I paid. Buy at a price that feels good to you, or not.It is what they say it is. Not many 17″ pans available. Casting quality and seasoning seem okay, could be thicker I always say cause I like them super thick but it is already super heavy and weight adds up on a storage shelf. As for design well does not seem to be anything special or wrong there. Just plain dual handle skillet.I admit I really wish all skillets came with a grill-griddle reversible lid at minimum if not a full deep pan. That said most do not. I can not find any 17″ Double Dutch ovens (with skillet lids) or even any 17″ skillets with cast iron lid.So it is what it is, at least so far so good.
