Don’t let the weight fool you – it’s surprisingly lightweight for how incredibly warm it is. The first time I wrapped myself in it on a chilly night, it felt like a warm hug from a happy polar bear (seriously, the best kind of hug!). Great quality and not noisy!
Honestly I have no complaints except maybe that it had a slight chemical odor when I first pulled it out, but I aired it out over night and the smell went away. Other than that, it does all the good things I want a comforter to do! It wasn’t too hot in the summer and warm enough for the recent drop in temperature. It was quite expensive, I’m sure I could have found something copyable much cheaper. But I’m glad to know I have a good quality blanket to use year round.AND it came with a nice basket that doubles as blanket storage next to the couch!

DO NOT PUT IN WASHING MACHINE
I was so excited to try this new comforter for my bed. I never like to use items straight out of the packaging; I always wash them first, but the directions clearly say to dry clean only and only spot clean very small areas. I debated either airing it outside or taking it to the dry cleaners before use and while pondering I left it sitting on the floor in its cute basket. In the meantime, my cat decided it was a nice place to nap. Inexplicably my cat, who has never gone to the bathroom outside of his litter box before, decided to pee on it instead of nap on it. I discovered this when I took it out of the basket with the intention to put it in the dryer on the Air Fluff (no heat) setting with some dryer sheets just to freshen it up a bit before I used it. Because it was rolled up, the cat urine got everywhere and I had no choice but to wash it in the washing machine after dousing it with cat urine remover spray. This was not a tiny bit of cat pee, he emptied his bladder in there. He has never peed outside of his box before and I cannot explain the behavior at all. I washed the comforter on gentle cycle in cold water and took it to a relatives home that still has an outdoor clothes hanging line. We tried to pull and reshape the comforter, but as you can tell from the photos, it shrunk considerably. I am so disappointed! It’s too small to fit my queen size bed, and too large to use on the couch. You absolutely cannot put this comforter in the washing machine, so if you like laundering your bedding or have a cat that pees on things, this is not for you. I can say that the fabric is very luxurious, it’s so soft and the comforter is a nice weight and very very warm & cozy. I loved that it was made with wool, which is a wonderful natural fiber that breathes when you sleep so you don’t get too hot. The downside is that wool is not typically a washing machine safe fabric, which I unfortunately learned the hard way on this purchase.
