Every bit as good as a Berkey – for real. READ this
I already own a Berkey and so I’m familiar with this type system. I’m realizing that some of the negative reviews here are due to people not understanding certain things.First, you’d be amazed how many people do not read the instructions – regardless the product – and when it doesn’t do what they expect, they write a negative review.1. People complaining that this unit leaks: So, be aware of how much water is in the reservoir below vs how much additional water you’re dumping into the top. Physics. You can’t stuff 3 gallons of water into a 2.25 gallon space. Once you reach the capacity, the remaining water coming down is not going to stop… There’s no seal between the two reservoir cans – nor would you want one! So, to state it simply – don’t overfill the unit, and water won’t seep out and “leak everywhere”…2. DO prime the candles. Initially you have to force water through them. This means using the provided (yellow) gasket. Place it under the faucet and hold it up against the faucet. Yes, water will squirt – it’s like holding your thumb over the end of the hose. But after doing that for the instructed amount of time, the filters are saturated and thus water will go through. If the filters are full of air or air pockets from not thoroughly priming them, then water will not be ABLE to go down through.3. Attach the filters properly inside the reservoir can. One gasket above, one below, then tighten the wingnut (but don’t over tighten). Same thing on the spigot. One gasket on the inside, one on the outside – no leaks.This is NOT rocket science, but having some common sense and basic understanding (intuitive) of water physics will help.Now, on to the review. I bought my Berkey about 10 years ago for around 300.00…. And at that time there really weren’t any knock-offs. Want clean water? – fork out the cash for a Berkey. But when you get down to brass tacks, it’s a simple straight-forward design – a design that is easily and economically feasible to duplicate.Vevor I have come to find is a brand that is very good at doing just that.This unit is EVERY BIT as good as the very expensive Berkey. Every bit, The stainless steel is thick and it’s the same grade as my Berkey. Even though I bought the small one, it’s not chintzy. Solid. All the accessory parts are well-made and durable as well. For under 70.00 compared to around 300.00 – this is a GREAT BUY!

Wrong Filters Sent
I ordered a 2.25 gallon gravity-fed water filter from this seller before. I like the water housing is made of stainless steel and the quality of filtered water is good so I ordered another 1.5 gallons housing with carbon and fluoride filters. The delivery was fast but I received 2 carbon filters without fluoride filter that I ordered. This seller asked for $8 to return.

we bought this to try as we were looking at property that did not have water so we were planing on using rain water haven used it with rain water but i have been using it for 4 months now with the city water it has taken all the odd tastes out and actally dose better the my ge filter frige water it takes a few at first to filter but after a few times using it it will filter a full batch in about 2 hrs highly reconmend

Hands down worth it.
It did not take as long to arrive as I thought. The size is perfect. It breaks down and stores with a small footprint on my counter. RV life made this essential with some parks, water can taste really bad. I have a filter in my fridge that is very expensive and was able to purchase this for the price of one fridge filter. It was very easy to put together. Don’t forget to prime the filters before you install them. I didn’t read very well and had to take it apart for this step. If you’re a teacher, I failed the following directions part. I purchased this because I didn’t have the money to spend on the big name brand and for the price, it was an easy decision. The water does taste much better after being filtered out. Our water had a chlorine and fish smell because we are close to a lake. After being filtered there was no fish smell and it no longer smelled like a bottle of bleach either. For my needs, it was a win. Box arrived intact, no scuffs or damage to the unit, it was easy to put together (even with my mishap), in my budget, and the water tastes much better than before. I recommend this product to anyone.

Does not work or filter the water
Terrible product.It does not work as advertised.You fill the top chamber with water and it just sits there and does not filter through.Instructions provide nothing about how to fix this.I “primed” the filter exactly as you’re supposed to and it still does not work. Customer service for this company is terrible as well.Do not buy. Waste of time and money.

I was going to give it a 4 star just because the instruction manual was a little complicated for me, BUT I found a YouTube video ! So it was easy !I filtered the first batch then dumped it, fills the second and it was GREAT, all the tap water taste gone!I am so picky with my water, and I actually loveeeeeeee the taste 🙂 so fresh and cleanI highly recommend !
