We recommend cleaning the stainless steel chambers and spigot monthly. The foundation filters should be scrubbed every 3-6 months or when you notice a slower flow rate.
Cleaning Instructions:
Remove foundation filters: Take out the filters and place them in a safe spot to avoid any damage.Wash the Chambers: Using warm water and a mild dishwashing soap, wash the chambers, parts, and pieces by hand. Or, place the stainless steel chambers in the dishwasher. Optional remove the spigot: If needed, detach the spigot from the lower chamber for cleaning. DO NOT use soap on the foundation filters.Reassemble and enjoy: Once dry, reassemble your BOROUX legacy system and continue to enjoy refreshing water. Happy hydrating!

The BOROUX gravity-fed water filter system has one upper chamber and one lower chamber. The filters are installed in the upper chamber. Water is poured into the upper chamber, and then gravity pulls the water down through the BOROUX foundation filters and into the lower chamber. Drinking water can then be poured out from a spigot located at the base of the lower chamber.
How do the BOROUX foundation filters work?
Boroux foundation filters work by absorbing and trapping contaminant molecules. The carbon attracts and absorbs molecules with a certain chemical charge. They stick to the carbon, like how a magnet attracts metal. The tiny pores of the carbon block are so small that they physically block and trap tiny particles. It’s similar to a sieve or strainer.

Does the job and I trust it
I am happy I bought it after very long research. Water tastes clean. Very functional. good water capacity for my small family of three . It would work great for a bigger family too. The only thing it take some time to fill a kettle or a pot. I put a little stool underneath so I wouldn’t stand just holding it.several times I left it running and overfill my kettle so I had to dry my floors. It stand next to my countertop because it doesn’t fit under kitchen cabinets. You have to lift the upper part to see how much water left filtered so you not overfill the upper part where are the black filters are. They are identical to the main brand that is locked in lawsuit with governmental body. I love this system and so far so good.

Great tasting water with only a few issues
I was looking for a filtration system that would provide great tasting water, and this system is the one! The price was less than the competition, but still provides a quality product. After using the system for a few months, I purchased and installed the spout with the visible water level which helps prevent running the tank out of water. My only issues have been the size (it does take up a LOT of space on the counter), the esthetic (if you want a clean, empty counter, you will need a separate stand to place on the floor), and accidental over-fill (I ended up putting marks on the glass tube on the spout that corresponded with the refill container to help prevent overfills). Water tastes great, no chemical or chlorine detected. Highly recommended if you are looking for a less expensive version of a steel water filter system.

I am so glad I bought this. It’s built well, it’s super functional and easy to refill. Putting it together was easy and I’m able to place it in a dedicated spot in my RV Small footprint makes it a space spacer, makes it easy to use , and the taste of the water is amazing! It was a solid purchase for our health.

Easy to use and put together
I have been using this system for a while now and I really love it. It is easy to care for, easy to set up, and has very good instructions that come with it. I have only had to change my filters one time so far (after about 9 months) and that was easy as well. I have our a few of the extras (the wood stand, the spout with the glass tube so you can see water level) highly recommend this system!

Would like to return. Using water tester, testing water from this and my reverse osmosis water machine I find this does not do a very good job. Water quality is not that good. It is better than the faucet.
