Finally found a pitcher that works best for my areas water!
The Santevia MINA Alkaline Water Pitcher has been the best match for the water in my area. Our tap water tends to to have slightly more chemicals then I think it should, and this pitcher has helped to completely transformed it. The difference was noticeable on the very first pour.Since using the MINA filter removes the water is crystal clear and is adding back healthy minerals, so the water tastes clean, smooth, and fresh. I also appreciate that the filters last longer than other brands I’ve used.If you live in an area where the water quality is “just okay,” I would highly recommend that you give this pitcher a try.

Mixed feelings
I had the large Santevia filter with the mineralizing rocks 14 years ago. It was excellent quality. I let someone have it and honestly it’s been a loss. I’ve heard that the quality of those units has gone down so I was skeptical about getting this. Well some of the components feel cheap, especially the lip cover at the spout. However, the taste of the filtered water surpasses any other pitcher filter I’ve had over the past 10 years. This company has a knack for filtering. Please bring the quality back. Try triton or something.

Save Your Money!
I purchased this because I buy a lot of bottled Alkeline water and wanted a cheaper alternative. If I can make my own at home, this would be wonderful. Well when it arrived I quickly unpacked and washed the pitcher. The instructions for the filter are to rinse (while shaking) for a minute, then fill up the pitcher twice and discard water. I rinsed the filter a little over a minute and then filled the pitcher three times (once more than recommended) and gave the water to my plants. I must note that when pouring the water out the pitcher to discard, the filter came crashing out when I got near the end of the water inside. There’s nothing to hold or lock the filter in place, so when the pitcher is almost empty and you are pouring water, the filter comes out completely. I excitedly filled the pitcher up for the fourth time and placed in the fridge to chill. I loved how quickly the water went through the pitcher, it didn’t take very long for it to make its way to the bottom. Well after a couple of hours I grabbed the pitcher and poured a glass. The first thing I noticed was all the filter debris floating around the bottom of the pitcher, as well as my glass. The water even had a bluish hue. I have ph test drops and placed some of the filtered water in a small measuring cup and added 3 drops. The water is neutral (7), not at all alkeline as it advertises the pitcher to make it. My water coming out the tap is an 8, so this pitcher actually make it more acidic. The only reason I don’t drink straight tap water is because I don’t know what dirty minerals or chemicals are coming through the pipes in my apartment. I’ve tried boiling tap water but it’s so hard it ruined my tea kettle. I really wish this pitched did what it advertised it did, but sadly it doesn’t. If it wasn’t so expensive and leaked filter products into the water I would keep it and just use it to filter my tap water. But for $49 I’ll be returning this product.

Unboxed, washed all components and followed instructions how to use the Mina pitcher for the first time. Instructions were specific and easy to follow and so far the water taste good!

I love this pitcher I was looking for something to filter more toxins out of the water and loved the added bonus of adding minerals. I did notice a couple reviews saying the water was cloudy… well if people actually read instructions you’re supposed to run three top chambers through (and use it to water plants) before you drink the water. No cloudy water here. Crystal clear and tastes great!!

Upon initial use I noticed that the water was flowing into the water container very quickly and I thought that it couldn’t be being filtered very well. After a handful of uses the water had lots of the filtering substance in it – I assume charcoal fragments as they were black. i.e. the filter doesn’t work. I can’t find any way to contact the seller as I didn’t start using the product until a couple of months after purchasing. It might be the case that I just have a faulty one and if I can find a way to contact the seller they will replace. If the seller reads this please get in touch!
